FAQs

You have questions? I have answers!

Q: Where do newborn sessions take place?

A: In your home. It is the best place because it’s easier for you, everyone is more comfortable and at ease at home!

Q: Where will my family session take place?

A: At home or at a favorite local park or downtown spot.

Q: What is lifestyle photography?

A: Lifestyle photography is a style that is focuses on capturing your family as you interact with each other and show love and affection towards one another. Many of the images will not have everyone looking at the camera. I will walk you through what to do. Much of the time you will be snuggling, playing and hanging out. I will make sure it looks great on my end and the result will be beautiful, loving images. This style of photography is perfect for kids because they are not asked to sit and cheese at the camera for an hour. They can be themselves and have fun. It’s a win win!

Q: Ok but, will you take some of us looking at the camera and smiling?

A: Yes, of course! I know you want one for Grandma or your holiday card and I’m happy some for you.

Q: Does my house have to be perfectly decorated?

A: No way! It will be beautiful because you and your family who you love will be in it! We just need one room with lots of natural light.

Q: What should we wear?

A: Generally I recommend flowy clothes that are comfortable and make moving, sitting, and dancing easy to do. As a rule of thumb try to stay away from deep, bright colors like red, hot pink, and orange. It can make your skin look tinted with that color. I always suggest dressing yourself first and then coordinating your family around you! You need to be happy with your outfit first and foremost.

Q: How can I tell if I have a lot of natural light?

A: Pay attention to how much light your house gets in certain rooms when no lights are on. Check at different times throughout the day. Some homes get more light in the morning or afternoon, depending on what direction your house is facing.

Q: What if the kids are not cooperative?

A: Don’t worry about their behavior. Really! Let them be themselves. I have found the more silly they are and playful, the better the pictures will be! And, if they are shy and snuggly, that’s ok too! Whatever mood they are in we will work around. Let me worry about that.
